Jung Youth is the moniker of Justin Donahue, a Nashville-based hip hop artist who says, “My music, to me, is all about the process of self-discovery and enjoying the wisdom that comes with growth. I am excited to give listeners a cathartic experience that is both fun and full of meaning when they can finally have the opportunity to see our live show.”
Produced largely by his longtime friend and collaborator Nephew, Jung Youth describes ‘Flirkin’’ as a sort of concept album; the story’s narrative follows a protagonist through a stream-of-consciousness journey to his own transformation. “All of us have hopes, dreams, and goals,” he explains, “and this project focuses on many of the material and spiritual obstacles which we must overcome or fall prey to in this modern life.”
